At KidGuard, we are passionate about online safety. The ‘KidGuard for Education’ Essay Scholarship is part of KidGuard’s effort to bring awareness and inspire solutions on issues on cyberbullying, online predators, teen suicide and childhood depression in the age of technology. Please join us in this conversation and in our movement.  

ELIGIBILITY: All Elementary School Classes, Grade 1-5 in the United States

AWARD AMOUNT: Multiple scholarships ranging from $200 to $500
 

DEADLINE: December 1st, 2017, 11:59 PM (Pacific Time)

 

TOPIC: 
 
Children as young as 7 years old today have their own smartphones and about 90% say they’ve had access to the internet since the age of 9 or younger. In addition to cyberbullying, children experience other forms of bullying at an even younger age. Educating children on how to be good "netizens" starts at a young age and is invaluable to society.

Teachers, please choose one of the following topics for your students (minimum 5 students) to write about for at least 5 sentences.
  1. What should you do when you or someone you know is being bullied?
  2. What does "bullying" mean to you?

 

HOW TO SUBMIT: Teachers, please submit your student's entries by scanning or taking a picture of their handwritten opinions and uploading it to google drive. Email a google drive link to apply@kidguard.com

SELECTION PROCESS

 

We will be randomly selecting a pool of finalists and out of the selected finalists, a winner will be selected and contacted shortly thereafter.

Terms and Conditions

 

The KidGuard for Education Scholarship award must be spent on tuition, fees, books, supplies, educational field trips and equipment for the classes at an elementary school. Selected recipients will receive instructions from KidGuard on how to receive the award. Failure the complete these steps by the specified deadline will disqualify recipient from receiving the award. KidGuard employees are not eligible to apply for KidGuard scholarships. Persons who are (1) residents of embargoed countries, (2) ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or (3) otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanction programs may not apply for this scholarship. No cash alternative to the award will be offered. The award is not transferrable. Awards are substitute to availability and KidGuard reserves the right to substitute any award with another of equivalent value without giving notice. All entrants agree to the use of his/her name in any publicity material. Your contact information such as email and phone number will be used solely in accordance with current federal and state data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. KidGuard reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of KidGuard’s control Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by KidGuard.
